Fresh Cut Flowers & Environmental Awareness

April 22 celebrated Earth Day 2014. It was the 44th anniversary of its historical beginning in 1970. In that short span of time, its focus has encompassed issues ranging from litter and landfills to industrial air and water pollution to global climate change.

Many of us are concerned with eco-friendly interior design and desire to become “greener” in our homes and businesses. The use of fresh cut flowers as floral décor should be part of that consideration. Awareness of the fresh cut flower industry’s environmental impact is critical, especially when a reduction of your carbon footprint is the goal.
