Valentine’s Day 2014 is in the books — as one of the worst years ever for performance by the fresh cut flower services. The week before V-day was full of national and local media reporting the dismal results of their quality tests, and offering how-to tips to ensure you get the best bang for your buck. The media agencies obviously remember past Valentine’s Day floral failures.

The days following V-day proved their testing was accurate, reporting on the thousands of consumer complaints for poor quality, late and nonexistent deliveries, and poor customer service response. The fresh cut flower vendors blamed the bad weather.

The fact remains that the entire fresh flower industry is at total system overload that week; the quality of the product and service suffers tremendously. Weather was just the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back, and a poor excuse.

Here’s an Idea…

Why not do your own test? Send someone an artificial flower design from!

You will see how it delights the recipient. You will also learn how it continually delights, hearing that the recipient thinks of you every time they look at our beautiful, permanent, flower arrangement. Isn’t that what sending a gift of flowers is supposed to do, delight instead of disappoint, and create a loving memory?

Remember that the next time you send a gift of flowers.
